ONLINE CLASSES??🤔

Hi, welcome to my blog!!
It's no news that we are on lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We were advised to go to our respective homes and this is the fifth week. Prior to that, the academic staff union of universities (ASUU) embarked on a two week warning strike, that's almost a month of no academic activities. The number of Covid-19 cases are rising each day, therefore no one can predict when it will be over. With that in mind, the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu has asked tertiary institutions to start online classes. This is a good initiative which other schools in developed countries are doing but can that be possible in Nigeria?
On the part of the students, some don't have smart phones or laptops which is very essential for this. Those that have the device may be staying in areas where they hardly have power supply. In the case where a student has the necessary device with stable light, for an online class, you will need data subscription which is quite expensive not to talk of the poor network. That being said, the online class is a good idea but it is not achievable in Nigeria right now.
This pandemic has really shown the neglect of the government on key sectors such as Health and Education. Hopefully after this pandemic, the government should do the needful, would put in more resources. If one is healthy, he/she can learn and they can get good education, there will be National Development.
What's your take on the online class? Leave it in the comment section. Don't forget to stay safe. Thanks for reading. ❤️

  2. Online class isn't a bad idea at all, just like online services that are being held now every Sunday, but for a country like Nigeria and considering all other factors stated... I think they shudnt even dare venture into it for now... let everyone make use of this period to learn new skills, gain knowledge of new things.

I'm soldily behind you ..I agree to everything you said , it's even better for the private schools how about the state universities that some of the students there work to pay their fees and can't afford such luxury
What should they do? Even this lockdown isn't favouring them because their means of feeding is taken away from them which is sad and leaves them hungry ☹️ not to talk of online classes 😣
